The following is a 7 day suggested itinerary for the Cayo district.  It is assumed that you are coming straight to San Ignacio in the Cayo District.  If you will be arriving in Belize City and wish to be picked up or dropped off at the airport most resorts and tour operators have airport pick up and drop off service that can be arranged before hand.

Tip: Plan on an early arrival if possible and late departure.
Tip: Most tours can be arranged the same day or one day in advance.

Features:          

Day 1 Arrive in Belize - Or arrive in San Ignacio

• Shuttle pick up at International Airport or Municipal Airport if needed

• Belize Zoo (Time permitting)

• or Belmopan or Inland Blue Hole (if you have a private vehicle)   

• Check in at your hotel or resort - better yet why don't you stay at J and R Guest House and spend some time with a Belizean Family.

• Visit Cahal Pech (Time permitting)

• Evening - dine at one of the many varied restaurants in San Ignacio

Day 2 Belize Cayo Maya Ruins Discovery Tour - Archaeology

Features:

  • Tip: If you stay at J and R Guest House you get a free continental breakfast

• Xunantunich Maya Ruin

• Cahal Pech Maya Ruin

• Lunch at Succotz ###

• Ixchel Medicine Trail and Butterfly farm at Cha Creek (by road and Time permitting other wise fit in day five)

• Evening - dine at one of the many varied restaurants in San Ignacio

Day 3 The Scenic Cayo District Tour Mountain Pine Ridge Reserve Area

• Alternately Big Rock Falls

• Stop at Five Sisters (Time permitting)

• Souvenir Shopping at Garcia's Mayan Craft Center (Time permitting)

• Evening - dine at one of the many varied restaurants in San Ignacio

Day 4 The Cayo Adventure Tour

• Upon return Souvenir shopping in San Ignacio (time permitting)

Day 6 Guatemala and Tikal Tour

Day 7 Departure to your next Destination
